☆☆ OPENING SEGMENT ☆☆

Backstage near the loading docks. There are forklifts and large semi trucks with the TWC logos on it. TWC Chairman Zachary Brandon walks around the parking structure with Yasmine Casteñeda by his side as he holds an impromptu discussion with Chrysalis.

Chrysalis: What I don’t get is why I’m not fighting Carnivore tonight? I get it, I’m a rookie and I have to prove myself, but before anyone else put ink to the page, it was me and Carny and we told you we wanted to throw down. Come on yo, make it happen!

Z. Brandon: I understand you wanted a certain match, and that match still can happen, but--

Their attention is sent to the noise heard off camera.

Carnivore approaches after kicking a door open, wearing an orange T-shirt and his yellow Smiley mask. Carnivore stops when he sees Zachary Brandon and Chrysalis. The female rookie puts her hands up due to Carnivore kicking the door in, showing she’s ready to fight.

Carnivore: Life is about making some things happen and not waiting for something to happen, Mr. Brandon, you can make something happen. Mr. Brandon, you can make a match between Chrysalis and myself right now.

Z. Brandon: No. You are facing Lance Manning.

Carnivore: I guess everyone will just have to wait until I beat and beat down Lance Manning, I can’t wait.

Carnivore walks away.

Brandon and Chrysalis look confused as cameras fade out.

☆☆ RINGSIDE ☆☆

Amongst the audience we find a total of 105 people, spaced out in various areas with personal servants assigned to their tables. Where chairs are normally, we discover tables set up for family members, dates, and small groups of friends.

The fans go wild as they eat their meals, look over programs for tonight's event, and fill out predictions cards that had been placed at every table. JMT & Xavier Powers' voices are heard from the headset. JMT is full of jokes, cynicism, and darkness.

Bruce McLeod VS. Avery Smith w/ Jessica Anderson
Match Time Limit: 25 Min.
Match Length: 14 min. 00 sec.

■ HIGHLIGHT ■

In this match, Bruce McLeod, long time veteran battles Avery Smith with Jessica Anderson with her at ringside. From the start of the match. Avery is quick to attack with punches and kicks. Smith slingshots out of the ropes and pays for it after McLeod slams her to the mat via a snap power slam.

McLeod makes the cover but only picks up a count of about one and a half before Avery throws the shoulder up. The match moves forward with McLeod keeping the upper hand and Avery Smith fighting back as resiliently as she can, kicking out of three separate pin attempt.

In the finals moments, Bruce McLeod would lock Avery Smith in a crucifix kneebar, forcing her to tap out.

Winner: Bruce McLeod via submission

☆☆ RINGSIDE ☆☆

With his music still playing over the sound system, a victorious Bruce McLeod barely makes it to the top of the ramp before he's stopped in his tracks and there's a microphone being thrust in his face. The scarred Scot stares at the person holding it for a few seconds before sighing and shaking his head.

Bruce McLeod: Can't give a fella a little breather, hmm?

Interviewer: Sorry. I just wanted to-

The Highlander reaches out and yanks the microphone from the kid's hand, turning to look down at the ring where his opponent is just struggling to his feet.

Bruce McLeod: Oh, aye. What was it gonna be? That ol' "how's it feel tae be the victor in the very first match in the history of this company"? Somethin' on those lines? Feels good. Feels like settin' a precedent, that tha' Miss Thing King doesn't know shyte about – this isn't 2019. Her undefeated streak, her who gives two shits title reign from Crickets Chirp Wrestling or whatever in the blue fuck it was... doesn't matter. This is a fresh slate, a clean field tae plant the seeds of greatness.

He smirks, letting that thought germinate for a moment before he continues.

Bruce McLeod: Let what just happened be a lesson. Ain't here tae be taken lightly, tae be dismissed as some washed up has-been lookin' to steal the shine from the younger generation. Nae. See… am a teacher. Pride meself on impartin' the knowledge've earned over the last two decades. Watch me go. Fuckin' learn how it should be done. With honour. With respect. Watch this hand bein' raised victorious, watch that belt finally comin' tae rest around this waist.

The crowd pops at the mention of Bruce as the inaugural champion.

Bruce McLeod: This isn't just a message for the weans – for the youngins, either – Journeyman an' Rooster, too. Am pleased as punch tae have some other experienced fellas here in the trenches, but fellas... gotta remember somethin' vital. I was here first. Bar set. Line drawn.

He gestures to the ring where Avery Smith is just exiting the ring with the aid of Jessica Anderson.

Bruce McLeod: Tae hell with the MadClan an' Christina King's massive ego. This is my fuckin' playground. This is the year of the Highlander – best believe.

He drops the microphone, literally. Feedback rips across the sound system as he turns and continues up the ramp, seeming oblivious to the cheers.

☆☆ BACKSTAGE ☆☆

We cut backstage to an interview station. The camera is focused upon a TWC backdrop. After a few moments Christina King walks into the frame. Christina is dressed in her best pinstripe suit. In her left hand is an unlit cigar. In her right hand is a wine glass filled with a red liquid, seemingly wine. Christina takes a sip of her drink and gives the camera a quick wink before speaking.

Christina King: Tonight history will be made on the first show of a new experience. I will be your guide into the madness that is TWC, my new battleground. And what a historic night it is! On the first show, in the first ever main event, I will go one on one with green as grass herself, Chrysalis. You’ve seen the banter and smack talk on Twitter, you’ve seen our promotional material leading up to this showdown, now you get to experience the madness firsthand.

Christina lets out a mad laugh and places her cigar before her left ear. The madwoman loosens her tie and cracks her neck.

Christina King: To Chrysalis this is the most important match in her career. To Chrysalis this is a chance to advance in the rankings, to move on in the tournament and hopefully become TWC champion. Sadly, for her, she is stepping into the ring with me. I’m a former world champion, the strongest striker in TWC, and I’m flanked by the MadClan. Chrysalis lacks vision, she lacks skill, and she lacks everything she needs to beat me. She might entertain ideas of an upset but…

Christina finishes the liquid in her glass and throws said glass onto the ground. We can hear the shattering of her glass.

Christina King: Madness will reign. Madness will reign and my dear opponent will learn to respect that madness. See you in the ring.

Carnivore storms past ring crew with Kitty Dark close by. Christina King follows and the three storm by guerilla position, they all make eye contact with McLeod in passing just before power stepping through the curtain.

■ HIGHLIGHT ■

Carnivore made his way to the ring with Kitty Dark and Christina King to scrape up the remains. They attack Jessica Anderson while she is in the ring checking on Avery.

Christina King and Kitty Dark do a number on Avery, throwing her into the corner and smashing her shoulder and collarbone against the middle turnbuckle pad.

Miles Pluto rushes to ringside and orders them to stop but King just shoves Miles to the canvas and orders him to count. In that same moment Carnivore performs a fireman carry into a knee strike.

Jan van der Roost VS. Kieron Mitchell

Match Length: 22 min. 43 sec.

■ HIGHLIGHT ■

The stand out match of the night, and possible show stealer began with JVD catching Kieron's lariat in the opening moments and pulling him down into an armbar immediately. Kieron's in-ring awareness saves him in the first few minutes. Veteran JVD taps the well too many times and Kieron Mitchell prevents another submission attempt with an enziguri kick to the side of the head. The kick forces JVD to stumble backwards into the ring ropes. A European uppercut would keep JVD staggering before Mitchell uses a running lariat to knock JVD to the outside of the ring.

Mitchell soars to the outside via a springboard moonsault but JVD steps out of the way and Kieron Mitchell comes crashing down onto a dinner table at ringside. The couple enjoying their meal bail themselves out by running in the opposite direction. The battle continues on the outside; Kieron lands multiple knife edge chops and even slams JVD into the ring steps before sliding into the ring at the count of 8. JMT reminds us of the 20 second count out ruling in TWC. JVD slides into the ring in the final moments to save himself a loss but Mitchell is quick to execute a Russian leg sweep before making the pinfall attempt.

Kieron Mitchell gave JVD a welcoming super kick that left JVD floored. It would be the attempted shooting star press that cost him. JVD, being the veteran that he is he quickly locks the injured rookie into a single crap until he taps.

☆☆ RINGSIDE ☆☆
Bruce McLeod watches the act of sportsmanship with a big round of applause at the top of the aisle. JVD takes notice and McLeod gives a thumbs up before clapping some more.

JMT: "It seems Bruce is here to make his point felt."

X. POWERS: "I agree. These two are gunning for the number spot and they are both receiving disrespect about their age and what not."

JMT: "Here comes social media sensation, Chrysalis!"

X. POWERS: "She's expected to compete next. What could she be doing here?

Kieron Mitchell exits the ring as Bruce gives JVD a thumbs up from the aisle. The fans roar with even more cheers as JVD exits the ring and begins walking up the aisle, the rookie, and fan favorite due to social media, Chrysalis, was standing in the middle with a microphone in her hand. The barely filled venue was focused on the rookie, who had a spotlight shining on her as the lights were dim around the rest of the ring.

CHRYSALIS: For the last two months, I've been TALKING THAT TALK and every one of you in attendance and at home seemed to love it.

She pauses as the fans in attendance cheer early on, showing their adoration for the rookie.

CHRYSALIS: But I'm literally moments away from my professional debut and the time for talking is just about up. I know my opponent tonight is out for blood. She has said over and over and over and over and over....

The fans laugh at the animated tone the young woman from Brooklyn has taken.

CHRYSALIS: You get the point, but the girl has said she's going to swan kick my head off or whatever, but like I just said...TALK TALK TALK. It's time to fight Christina. I know you aren't scared, you've made that clear, but ask yourself something. Why am I in the main event in my debut with everyone in this building cheering me on if I don't have a whole lot more to offer than what you giving me credit for?

She pauses as the fans continue to be vocal, shouting and cheering for the rookie.

CHRYSALIS: You've called me green, you said my friends were begging you not to kill me, and you have told me and the world that I don't have a chance of pulling this off, so you know what? Pull up and lets get this shit goin.

Chrysalis tosses the microphone down aggressively and pulls the bandana she was wearing off and tosses it to the fans as she stares at the entranceway, awaiting Christina King.

☆☆ RINGSIDE ☆☆

[-MAIN EVENT-]

■ Round 1: TWC World Championship Tournament ■

Chrysalis VS. Christina King

Match Time Limit: 25 Min.

Match Length: 19 min. 00 sec.

■ HIGHLIGHT ■

The main event ended almost as soon as it began. Chrysalis wasted no time as Christina King chathed forward, she pulled her down via a hurricanrana. Chrysalis would be a master of counters in this match but the veteran madwoman always finds her moment to capitalize. A drop kick to the face from Chrysalis sends the punk rock ballerina into a frenzy.

King uses every area of the square circle to inflict pain. A power slam on the outside leaves Chrysalis in pain but it doesn't put her away. Near the end of the match Chrysalis would pull King down via an inside cradle and only manages a two count but it's close enough to a three to surprise Christina King. An attempted Swan Kick is dodged by Chrysalis and Christina King falls into a schoolgirl roll up.

Miles Pluto reaches a count of two before Kitty Dark arrives and hops onto the apron causing the official to stop his count. With Milesdistracted, Carnivore slips into the ring and hammers Chrysalis over the head with the ring bell hammer. Dark hops down just as Carnivore slips out and hides behind the ring steps. Miles pluto makes the count as soon as Christina King hooks the leg.

Winner: Christina King via pinfall

☆☆ CLOSING SEGMENT ☆☆

….with Chrysalis down on the mat, Christina King stomps on the shoulders and back of the neck of Chrysalis just before grabbing her by the hair and lifting her head up a bit.

JMT: The match was ended a while ago, this is overkill at this point..

The camera zooms in on Chrysalis’ face and it is clear she is in no position to defend herself at this point. Her eyes are shut and the fans are booing as Christina ponders what to do next. The crowd noise gets just a bit louder as the masked Carnivore makes his way into the ring, joining in the excessive beatdown.

JMT: Somebody get security out here!

The MadClan do a number on Chrysalis ignoring all of Miles Pluto's orders to stop the violence. The three on one attack continues until the uproar of the fans forces them to stop and look toward the aisle. Bruce McLeod,JVD, and Kieron Mitchell make their way to ringside. The MadClan would get out just in time. They all help Chrysalis to her feet, yet McLeod and JVD continue to argue and taunt one another.

The show goes off air just as Zachary Brown steps through the curtain, scolding the MadClan.
